Heaven in Berlin is… every kebab joint we visited offering haloumi cheese as a filling option. A deliciousness compounded by the complete absence of all haloumi cheeses in Italy.
We ate kebabs as far east as Spandau, and I can confirm that my lunch there was also full of deep fried haloumi. That particular monster was the size of quarter of a pizza. The one pictured is from another day’s eating, alongside a caffeinated beverage called Club Mate, which was seemingly being drunk everywhere by everyone. Mmmm, delicious Berlin!
