Today we are marking two war related commemoration days – ANZAC day in New Zealand and liberation day here in Italy.

I saw an anti-war and ANZAC day post on Facebook this morning – but, I think you can observe this day without being pro-war. For me it’s more a reminder of the horrors and futility of war, as well as a way to officially recognise those who were sent to slug it out in European trenches, and subsequent wars.

I was just seeking this info for some time. After six hours of continuous Googleing, at last I got it in your web site. I wonder what is the lack of Google strategy that don’t rank this kind of informative websites in top of the list. Generally the top sites are full of garbage. befeeaeddegb

    • Hi John! I love that you find my blog informative :). I’m not sure which bit of info you were searching for, but I find that, while for some things ‘Italy’ (pizza, gelato, Romans, Venice) the web is overflowing with English information, for others (local festivals, local foods and some holidays) the information only exists in Italian and you won’t find it with English search terms. What I sometimes do is try my search in Italian, then translate a likely looking web page. I did this post-Verona carnevale celebrations and discovered that at lunch that day we had, in fact, eaten donkey. Excellent.
